X-Men Movieverse Fan Fiction
Very nice way to relate Kurt's Catholicism to the idea that he isn't all that orthodox about following every one of the teachings of the Church, especially where sex is concerned.
Great explanation of Kurt's scars! Not self-punishment, as many assume, but reminders. That's exactly how I see them also.
I love the contrast between what Kurt is thinking and what he's doing.
BTW, I think Logan *can* be had, if Kurt can figure out a way to make him want to be.
This story combined with the next two makes for one long and fascinating story.
I love the way you use the idea of Logan cutting a new sin into Kurt's skin as a way to bring them to the ultimate conclusion. Beautifully done!
Excellent! I liked the verbal sparring between them. Other than inside my own head, this is the first piece I've read that mentions possible other uses for Kurt's tail. Figured I couldn't be the only one to think of that. :-)
I very much enjoyed Storm's image of Kurt as a gargoyle standing guard over the building and its occupants, not to mention the dialog between them.
I've read quite a bit of slash fanfic in many universes, but have only recently gotten interested in the X-Men movies, and specifically in Kurt. This story is truly excellent! Best I've found so far, along with the three other stories by the same author. The characterization is dead-on and the sex scenes damn near knock my socks off, to put it politely.
Ditzcat, if you're out there somewhere reading this review, I'd be glad to know how to reach you in order to tell you just how much these stories meant to me. I know it's been a few years and it's likely you've gone on to other interests, but as a sometime-fanfic writer myself, I know it's always nice to hear praise for what you've written even so.
Reading this was actually painful, once I caught on to what was going on. The way Kurt was treated was described coldly and heartlessly, and yet I can see something like that happening, once you make your enemy into something less than human. Great idea to intersperse the words of the Our Father with what was taking place. The moment I realized Kurt was fighting Logan in place of Lady Deathstrike, I knew how it had to end. And yet the ending was happy, in its own way.
Excellent introduction to the other two stories, but it would be better if it appear before them in the listing, rather than after.
Truly amazing! You've written a story featuring a kitten and it *doesn't* come off as being cutesy and cloyingly sweet. Excellent!
If these are things that haven't happened to Kurt yet, they certainly should have. Especially with Logan.
Great story!
Kurt and Bobby isn't a pairing I had considered, but I like the way the interaction is handled.
Your idea that the sins on Kurt's body aren't all his, but simply a listing of all possible sins is different and not the way I interpret it, but your concept is certainly valid and well presented. I like the way specific sins are named and identified by location. But it's even more perceptive to have him realize how the sins that truly may be his are in fact the ones that he has left off.
Well done!
I can never keep from laughing when Xavier threatens Logan with this punishment in the movie, so how could I not find this description of how things could have worked out if Logan hadn't put out that cigar to be absolutely hilarious?
